Welcome to Meadowland Farm B&B and The Lookout Shepherd's Hut...

Meadowland Farm in the beautiful North Devon valley of the River Torridge is close to the villages of Dolton, Iddesleigh, Merton and Meeth. Ideally placed for RHS Garden Rosemoor, walkers and cyclists on the Tarka Trail, Stafford Moor Fishery or those just wanting a peaceful break, we are centrally located between Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks whilst the rugged coastlines and sandy beaches of North and West Devon are never far away. We also have three Devon Wildlife Trust reserves within a 3-mile radius. Meadowland Farm is just a short drive from several local pubs serving excellent food whilst the market towns of Great Torrington, Winkleigh and Hatherleigh are also nearby...

Our farm is now a smallholding running down to the banks of the river Torridge where our guests are welcome to wander at their leisure. We have a small flock of Exmoor Horn sheep as well as a few pigs and free-roaming hens that supply us with tasty fresh eggs each day.

Our B&B Accommodation

The B&B has spacious and high quality en-suite accommodation with English breakfast made from home-produced or locally sourced food.

Our B&B accommodation is now centred on the ground floor suite that has recently been extended with an additional bedroom to provide for single, double, twin or family occupancy.  The suite has its own external entrance door, a 5' King-size bed and two 3' beds and a modern en-suite shower room.

Our Shepherd's Hut - The Lookout

The Lookout is a purpose-built timber cabin that offers the best of both worlds with its modern conveniences whilst also enjoying a very private and rural experience. The Lookout is available on a self-catering basis and has a modern fitted kitchenette and shower as well as an extra cabin with flushing loo. Guests can walk out from the Lookout through our fields and down to the river Torridge or they can explore the Tarka Trail that passes our farm entrance.

Stay with us when you visit the RHS Garden Rosemoor!

Meadowland Farm is a popular B&B stopover for those visiting the RHS Garden Rosemoor. We are located just off the A386 Okehampton to Great Torrington main road and Rosemoor is just a 10-minute drive further along the A386. If you are keen to avoid the narrow Devon lanes then you can easily reach us by leaving the A30 dual carriageway at Okehampton and driving up the A386.

Animals & Wildlife

Guests are enthusiastically greeted by our two dogs Polly and Meg. The farm is visited by a rich variety of wildlife including red deer, buzzards and kingfishers while otters might be seen in the nearby Halsdon nature reserve.
